ABOUT US

Our Goals and Plans:

· Conservation and development of Russian language and traditions among families of Russian background.

· Educating our students in the use of proper grammar, pronunciation and spelling of the Russian language.

· Offering help and support to American families with children adopted from the former Soviet Union.

· Cultivating a sense of self-discipline, responsibility and hard work among our students. Promoting respect for others and proper behavior in school and at home.

· Developing appreciation for the Russian culture, history and traditions.

· Familiarizing American families in the community with Russian culture, traditions and language.

· Becoming a resource center for all parties interested in Russian language, history and culture.

· Help and support seniors, new comers and families of Russian background through creating a friendly environment, inviting social interaction and exchange of information. (ESL, Book Club, events, lectures).

· Representing the state of Minnesota among our similar organizations across the U.S.

· Maintaining and developing connections with our educational and cultural affiliates in Russia.

All the staff are chosen based on their expertise on the field of Russian language and literature, desire to work extra hours, creativity, as well as their ability to connect with students.

The Board is always in a process of finding the best teachers and instructors.

We need many volunteers to be involved assisting in classes, organizing events and field trips, looking for grands, updating our website, etc.
